Perhaps they agreed, since they now have a second version that they asked us to take for a spin. Unfortunately, the new version is not much of an improvement over the old.

TRENDnet TEW-812DRU front and rear panel callouts. That single USB port is 2.0, not 3.0. But I don't think USB 3.0 would have helped much for file copy performance, as we'll see in a bit. Inside.
